A short experimental piece using clips from films by Mikio Naruse. The music is adapted from Catherine Christer Hennix's miraculous composition Electric Harpsichord No. 1.

The piece plays on a pun, investigating to what extent cinema is a 'moving' image. Kurosawa once characterised Naruse's film style as "a great river with a calm surface and a raging current in its depths", and by impeding (but not entirely removing) the sense of motion in the images, I hoped to reinvent Naruse's film works as a mood piece, one whose effect works against the expected flow of motion pictures.
